It seems his old man was gunned down, hence the tattoo. I'm sorry for him for that tragic event. He can express it how he likes, although it can obviously be taken the wrong way.
I vowed never to smoke fags or touch another man's c*** but I don't have either tattooed on my leg or any where else for that matter. Same goes for pickled beetroot.

Not sure if it has been said but I did see a funny tweet suggesting that if Sterling scores at the world cup, he should lay on his back and Kyle Walker should pretend to fire his leg at the crowd. A la Gazza's dentist chair. Would love to see what the papers would make of that!

My mate's old man was killed when his parachute failed to open. Consequently, he has a tattoo of the ground on his leg and have vowed never to touch the ground again. Consequently, he never got out of bed and died from an infected bed-sore. Consequently, his son has a tattoo of a bed sore on his leg, which when he went in for a routine knew op was mistaken for the real thing. The leg was amputated, despite being healthy. You could not make it up!

Sterling is a prick but it's his leg and he wants a tattoo of a gun that's up to him.
I bet 99% of people complaining have kids that play a game on the xbox or PS4 that have guns in them, or if they don't have kids play themselves or did as kids.

I don't see the fuss as as Sterling's said himself, the tattoo is not finished yet.
He's got a gun on one leg to remind him of how his dad died and he plans to have an erect penis on his other leg with the words 'GRANDDAD'S COCK' to remind him of how his dad came into the world.
Add the 'GRAN'S FANNY' on his back and it's quite a tasteful tryptic.

Of course, he can do what he likes with his own skin, but like HAMMERNH, I just don't see the logic of it. What kind of thought process makes you want a permanent reminder of the thing that killed someone you loved? If your old man gets run over by a bus, are you going to get a tatt of a bus?

What has happened to the world that a footballer gets a tattoo of a gun on his leg and it makes for a big discussion on news programmes on TV?
I am concerned that the trivia of life is too much for some people to put into perspective. He's a thick, pampered 23year old millionaire thanks to being able to play football. Of course he's a cunt! End of.

It doesn't offend me in the slightest and he can have what the fuck he wants on his own body.
However, I would suggest, that in the current climate and the fact that, like it or not, he is idolised by many young people, then this was stupid and naïve.
But, then again, he is a pampered young footballer so stupid and naïve are just two of many things that you could say that he is.
Gun and knife crime is on the increase all over the country and every day lots of young people, the majority being young black men, are injured and killed. Sterling just needed to be a little more aware of this fact and maybe not have that tattoo at this time or have something a little more subtle.
But, as I said, criticising a young footballer for being a bit stupid is a bit like criticising a shark for eating people. It's just the way it is. I can't hold it against him. But I think his advisors may have suggested to him it was not a good idea at this time, regardless of what it means to him.
But, time to move on and concentrate on the WC.
